Obsidian River Service · WP-99

Stop thinking about your WordPress site.

I keep it secure, updated, backed up and online, and I am the one who picks up the phone when it is not. $99 a month, flat. No contract.

01Why

Know who is actually watching it.

Most "WordPress maintenance" plans are a dashboard and a prayer. You sign up, and somewhere in a data center a robot runs an update once a month.

When something breaks on one of those plans, you file a ticket and wait three days for a reply from someone who has never seen your site before.

That is not what this is. I am one engineer with 30 years of experience, and I know your site. When WordPress drops a security patch, I read the release notes, check the plugins you depend on, and apply the update — usually within 24 hours, always within 48.

When something goes sideways, I am the one who fixes it, and I am the one who calls you back. There is no tier above me.

02Inclusions

Read every line of it.

Eight things, every month, for $99 flat. No upsells and no "that is not in your plan" surprises — if it is on this list, it is in the price.

01Managed hosting + SSL

Your site runs on infrastructure I architect and operate. SSL certificate renewals are automatic. You do not get a hosting bill from someone else.

02Daily backups, off-site

Encrypted, off-site, retained for 30 days. If something goes wrong I can roll your site back to yesterday in minutes.

03WordPress + plugin updates

Core, theme, and plugin updates applied within 48 hours of release — after I check they do not break anything specific to your site.

04Security monitoring

Malware scanning, login hardening, and a firewall sitting in front of your site. If something probes you, I see it. If something gets through, I fix it.

05Uptime monitoring

Your site is checked every minute, 24/7. If it goes down, I get the alert — usually before you do.

06Monthly performance report

One email at the start of each month: traffic, page speed, uptime, what I updated, what I am watching. Plain English.

0730 minutes of edits a month

Text changes, image swaps, new pages, business hours, staff updates. You email, I do it. Unused time does not roll over but I will not be stingy about 35.

08Email + phone support

You email me, I answer. You call, I pick up. There is no support tier above this, and there is no one else to escalate to. It is me.

03Fit

Check whether this is yours.

Small law firms. Solo and small-firm professionals. Nonprofits. Small businesses across the US — I have clients in New York, Brooklyn, California and Alabama.

Specifically: you have a WordPress site, your business depends on it being online and looking professional, and you do not want to learn a CMS or argue with a hosting company at 11pm. You want to know one person is watching it, and that the bill is the same number every month.

If your site is on Squarespace, Wix, or a static HTML site, this is not the right plan — the $49 Starter plan probably is.

  • You are on WordPress and staying there for now
  • The site matters — clients find you through it
  • You want one number on the invoice, every month
  • You want one person to call, and for that person to answer
  • You do not want to patch anything ever again
04Questions

Ask the awkward ones.

Migration, downtime, leaving, emergencies and the annual discount — answered the way I would answer them on the phone.

Do I have to migrate hosts?

Yes — I have to be able to actually manage the site, which means it needs to live on infrastructure I run. I handle the migration myself, with zero downtime, at no extra cost. Most migrations take a day. You do not have to do anything.

What if my site goes down?

I will usually know before you do. Uptime monitoring pings me directly. For the kind of issue that is mine to fix — host-side, configuration, plugin conflict — I am normally working on it within minutes.

Are there contracts?

No. Month-to-month. Cancel anytime. I keep clients by doing the work, not by trapping them.

Can I leave?

Anytime. If you cancel, I will export your full WordPress site and database and hand it to you or your next host. No charge, no friction, no last-minute "transfer fee."

What if I need more than 30 minutes of edits in a month?

Tell me what you need. Small overage I usually just absorb. Bigger projects (new sections, redesigns, feature work) I will quote you a flat number before starting. I will not surprise you with a bill.

What about emergencies — site hacked, defaced?

Included. If your site gets compromised on my watch, I clean it up and harden it without billing you. That is the whole point of paying me to watch it.

Do you offer an annual prepay discount?

Yes — 10% off if you prepay 12 months. $1,069/yr instead of $1,188. Same plan, same service, one invoice.

Not sure if your site is in good shape?

Get a free audit and I will tell you exactly what is going on under the hood — security, performance, what is outdated, what is broken. No pitch, no obligation. If WordPress Care is the right fit you will know, and if it is not, I will tell you that too.
